Educated at the University of New Mexico, Lone Mountain College, and Parsons School of Design, Hannah Lasky moved from New York City to Miami Beach in 1987, where she opened her first Hair Art Studio on Ocean Drive in 1987. Influenced by her past experiences in art, she displayed the works of other local artists on the walls of her salon. In 1996 the salon, Hannah and Her Scissors, moved to Lincoln Road where she joined in the area's commercial rebirth and began creating her own paintings. Her current gallery is bursting with color, and is a reflection of South Florida-- particularly Miami Beach. "The paintings leave you with a happy feeling, celebrating the joy of life," she says. "My art is a reflection of the influence of life. Nature, people, vistas, thoughts, feelings... a kind of depth and awareness of the momentary details of life." Hannah's display of colors is charismatic and striking, boldly luring your attention, pleasing the eye and the imagination. |
